Global education has witnessed a significant rise in recent years, with India reaching an all-time high in international student enrolments. Students’ interest in international education is growing due to its well-known credibility, specialised educational programmes, exposure to diverse cultures and opportunities for employment.

With numerous alternatives for graduate school and higher education readily available, Indian students in particular, have embraced this trend.

Studying abroad offers an exhilarating experience accompanied by distinctive challenges. Before setting off on this academic adventure, which is often a transformative experience for many, months of careful planning are needed.

Let us explore the trends and factors that students take into account while considering studying abroad shared by Diwakar Chandiok, Vice President (Recruitment) for South Asia, INTO University Partnerships.

    1. Programme content: Considering education is the primary reason why students relocate abroad, carefully examining the course content is essential if they wish to succeed in achieving their objective. Students seek to develop knowledge and skills after completing their higher education degrees. It is essential that students select a degree programme that will enable them to fulfil their long-term career objectives.

    2. Developing an international perspective: Students strive for a global perspective that will enhance their educational experience and enable them to become confident, well-rounded individuals. Living abroad and being surrounded by international students exposes them to a variety of experiences, promoting cross-cultural interactions and broadening their perspectives.

    3. Integrating the sector and professional prospects: One of the most crucial things to take into account when choosing an international degree programme is the field the student wants to work in. The features of the industry in the selected country, the industry’s room for expansion and job prospects in the country following the study programme should all be considered.

    4. Simplicity of the admissions process: Students who want to pursue an education overseas consider the ease of the admissions application process because the regulations, visa processes and laws of the host country have a significant impact on their choice of study abroad destination.

A simple admissions procedure makes the process more welcoming and easier for students, improving their entire study abroad experience.

    5. Individual and professional growth: International students who study abroad gain firsthand knowledge of a new country’s culture, traditions, and practises. Undoubtedly, the greatest advantage of studying overseas is the chance to gain knowledge and insights from some of the world’s top scholars and professionals in the field of study.

Along with gaining knowledge of diverse backgrounds, they also have the chance to interact and collaborate with fellow students from various countries. Studying abroad can be genuinely transformative for students as a result of these connections, which can help them improve both personally and professionally.
