Han So Hee, the epitome of grace and talent, has seamlessly won hearts with her captivating performance and unparalleled beauty. She is recently winning praise for her performance in thriller series ‘Gyeongseong Creature’. The trajectory of her career, however, unveils a narrative of humble beginnings and relentless pursuit of dreams.
In a recent candid revelation on PD Nah Yung Suk’s YouTube channel, Han So Hee bared the personal reasons behind a pivotal decision that altered the course of her life.On January 13, alongside Park Seo Joon, she shed light on the turning point when she chose the path of acting over a prospective study abroad experience in Paris.
Han So Hee’s dream of studying abroad faced a formidable obstacle – a financial barrier. According to Allkpop, she stated, “To get a visa to study in Paris, I had to prove that I had 60 million KRW in my bank account. They have such a policy due to illegal immigrants. Anyway, I didn’t have that kind of money so I started working part-time jobs.”
Recounting her arduous journey, Han So Hee shared, ” When I worked in a pub for 12 hours, I got paid 1.8 million KRW. But when I did a modeling gig for 2 hours, I got paid 3 million KRW. So I continued modeling for Musinsa. Then I was offered a TV commercial for Ritz crackers. I saw 20 million KRW in my account after filming the commercial. I didn’t have an agency back then so it was all mine after paying taxes. So I was like okay, I’ll film three commercials and then go study in Paris.”
Although her initial plan was to film three commercials and then pursue her studies in Paris, fate had other plans. The CEO of her current agency, having noticed her talent in the Ritz commercial, relentlessly persuaded her to delve into acting. Despite initial reluctance, Han So Hee found herself on the path to stardom, as her agency offered her the opportunity to debut as an actress. Han So Hee reflected on the unforeseen turn of events, stating, “But I ended up where I am now. After seeing the commercial, our agency’s CEO offered me to debut as an actress.”
Han So Hee, who once aspired for higher education in France, has now become a luminary in the Korean entertainment industry. Her story resonates as a testament to the transformative power of passion, hard work, and seizing unforeseen opportunities.
