    The Taiwanese government provides the largest amount of scholarship to Indian students every year. With over 150 universities/colleges in Taiwan, seven varsities were on the list of top 500, according to the 2024 QS World University Rankings. Taiwan looks forward to sponsoring more Indian students to study and work in the country in the coming years. The MoE Taiwan encourages Indian students to apply.
     

    MoE Taiwan Scholarship (for degree)
    Every year, a scholarship programme which is an opportunity offered by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Taiwan government, is provided to undergraduate and postgraduate students. The main aim of this scholarship is to encourage outstanding South Asian students to undertake degree studies in Taiwan.  

    Eligibility: An applicant must be a national of South Asian countries, hold a senior secondary school graduation diploma or post-secondary degree(s), have an excellent academic record and be of good moral character. Applicants must submit or send the scholarship application form and all the required documents to the education division, TECC in India. Students need to apply for admission through the university at the same time. 

    Amount: This degree scholarship awards each recipient tuition and miscellaneous expenses of up to NTD 40,000 (Rs 1,04,000) each semester. Recipients undertaking undergraduate studies will be granted a monthly stipend of NTD 15,000 (Rs 39,000), up to four years, and recipients who undertaking postgraduate studies will get a stipend of NTD 20,000 (Rs 52,000) per month, up to two years for master’s programme and four years for PhD programme.

    Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (for Mandarin Chinese language)
    The MoE Huayu Enrichment Scholarship Program is offered for the Mandarin learner, including beginner to study at any university-affiliated language centres in Taiwan. 

    Eligibility: An applicant must be a South Asian student above the age of 18 and possess at least a high school diploma. Applicants should submit the scholarship application form to the education division, TECC in India from February 1 to March 31 2024. Before applying, the student has to take TOCFL (Test of Chinese as Foreign Language) and provide the transcript as required document, no matter what level is. 

    Amount: The recipient will be awarded a monthly stipend of NTD 25,000 (Rs 65,000). The duration of the scholarship is three months, six months, nine months or 12 months, starting the course from September 1, 2024 to August 31, 2025.

    Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP) (for internship)
    This has been a very popular scholarship for Indian students. Taiwan’s MoE launched the TEEP to encourage more international students to participate in short-term professional internship projects organised by Taiwanese universities and colleges. TEEP also allows international students to gain an in-depth educational experience in Taiwan, while also preparing themselves for the Asian job market. Among 1,000 places of this scholarship every year, more than 580 were from India. TEEP programmes are also available in emerging fields such as Information Communication Technology (ICT), Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain Technology, Semiconductors, 5G Wireless Communications, Advanced Manufacturing, Smart Manufacturing, Robotics, Green Energy, Biosensors, Logistics Management, Molecular Biology and Smart Health Care, as well as Mandarin Language Training or Cultural Experience Courses. 

    Eligibility: Applicants should possess a high school diploma or above; a university student enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral programme, or a recent graduate, except for PhD holders. 

    Amount: The recipient will be awarded a monthly stipend of NTD 15,000 per month for living expenses.
