University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) is thrilled to begin another semester of exploring the world through study abroad. For the spring 2024 term, there are 78 University of Nevada, Reno students discovering new cultures, languages and experiences with USAC. We hope you join us in our adventures around the world, especially as we celebrate 40 years of USAC success during USAC Week.

USAC Week is all about celebrating study abroad and highlighting USAC’s 50+ programs. Mark your calendars for Feb. 26 to March 1, 2024.

USAC will be hosting various events and activities to shine a light on our different study abroad locations, options, and their cultures.

    What to expect

Special Guests: Staff from Lyon, France and Heredia, Costa Rica will be joining us for our events!

Classroom & Group Presentations: Want USAC to visit your classroom, meeting, or event during USAC week? Schedule a presentation by emailing USAC. We can bring our staff from France or Costa Rica with us!

Workshops: Not sure which program is right for you? We’ll be hosting a workshop on How to Find the Study Abroad Program for You! Not sure about the application process? Join us for our application workshop to learn more about the process.

USAC Study Abroad Fair: Learn more about our 50 + programs, financial aid, and applying – there will be food, raffles prizes, activities and more!

    Program highlights

Since we will be welcoming USAC staff from Cuba and France, let’s learn a little more about the programs!

    Heredia, Costa Rica

Heredia, located just outside San José, offers the excitement of living near the capital city but with a calmer and more relaxed atmosphere. Costa Rica as a whole is well known for its extraordinary natural beauty—preserved in its many national parks and reserves—which you will have the opportunity to discover firsthand. The Heredia program is ideal for students who are committed to learning the Spanish language and the diverse cultures of Latin America. Through coursework and personal interaction with the host culture, you will greatly expand your language skills and knowledge of Costa Rican society.

    Terms offered:

    Summer, Fall, Yearlong, Spring

    Academic Focus:
    • Spanish Language & Literature
    • Latin American Culture
    • Health, Sport, & Life Sciences

    Lyon, France

Lyon is one of the most attractive cities in France, creating a fresh combination of the bustle of a large, modern, European city and the simplicity of French tradition. The Presqu’île of Lyon serves as the city center with towering business buildings, blocks of busy shops, and streets lined with cafés full of Lyonnais taking their afternoon break. Spend your weekends biking or strolling along the Rhône or Saône rivers, planning a Sunday picnic with friends, or wandering through some of the most well-preserved Renaissance architecture in the world.
