    Danny Weathers has been named the Interim Chair of the Department of Marketing in the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business at Clemson University, marking a significant milestone in his distinguished career at the institution. With over a decade of dedicated service and a strong commitment to academic excellence, Weathers is set to lead the Department of Marketing toward continued growth and innovation.

    Weathers joined Clemson in 2011 when he assumed the role of Assistant Professor in the Department of Marketing. Over the years, his unwavering dedication and exceptional leadership have earned him the title of Professor in 2020. Notably, he served as the Faculty Senate President during the 2019-2020 academic year, demonstrating his commitment to university governance.

    Beyond his contributions to the Department of Marketing, Weathers has played a vital role in the institution’s development. Since 2019, he has led the M.S. Marketing program, enhancing the educational experiences of students. From 2021 to 2023, he presided over the Powers College of Business Faculty Advisory Council, highlighting his commitment to faculty development and excellence.

    Weathers is a current participant in the President’s Leadership Institute, where he is honing his leadership skills and acquiring insights to advance the University’s mission.

    Weathers’ academic journey is rooted in quantitative and marketing disciplines. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences from Clemson University, a Master of Science in Statistics from the University of South Carolina and a Ph.D. in Marketing, also from the University of South Carolina. His diverse academic background and international experience are evident in his leadership, having led an international marketing-focused study-abroad program to London and Paris, providing students with a global perspective on marketing practices.

    Jennifer Siemens, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Faculty Excellence, expressed her confidence in Weathers, saying, “Dr. Weathers has been an important contributor to the Department of Marketing for many years, and I look forward to the positive impact that his leadership will have on our Marketing students, faculty and staff.”

    Danny brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role as Interim Chair of the Department of Marketing. His dedication to our institution and commitment to excellence make him an invaluable asset to our College. We are confident that under his leadership, the department will continue to thrive and excel.
