    The recent deaths of Indian students studying in the USA raised concerns about the safety issues of international students studying in colleges there. At least half a dozen Indian students have died in the USA since the beginning of 2024

    New Delhi: For decades, the United States of America (USA) has become the preference of Indian students who wish to study abroad. As per reports, the US is the top study abroad destination for 32 per cent of Indian students, the reason behind choosing US colleges are better campus placement, career opportunities.

    But, the recent deaths of Indian students studying in the USA raised concerns about the safety issues of international students studying in colleges there. At least half a dozen Indian students have died in the USA since the beginning of 2024.

    Uma Satya Sai Gadde– Indian student Uma Satya Sai Gadde was found dead in the US state of Ohio. “Deeply saddened by the unfortunate demise of Mr Uma Satya Sai Gadde, an Indian student in Cleveland, Ohio,” the Consulate General of India in New York posted on X. “Police investigation is underway. @IndiainNewYork continues to remain in touch with the family in India. All possible assistance is being extended, including to transport Mr. Uma Gadde’s mortal remains to India at the earliest,” the consulate posted.

    Deeply saddened by the unfortunate demise of Mr. Uma Satya Sai Gadde, an Indian student in Cleveland, Ohio.

    Police investigation is underway. @IndiainNewYork continues to remain in touch with the family in India.

    Amarnath Ghosh– A 34-year-old trained classical dancer from India, Amarnath Ghosh was shot dead in St Louis, Missouri in March.

    Sameer Kamath– A 23-year-old Indian-American student Sameer Kamath studying at Purdue University was found dead in in Indiana on February 5

    Vivek Taneja– Vivek Taneja, a 41-year-old IT executive suffered life-threatening injuries during an assault outside a restaurant on February 2.

    Vivek Saini- The 25-year-old Indian student Vivek Saini was killed in the US recently at a convenience store in Georgia.

    Shreyas Reddy Beniger– Shreyas Reddy Beniger, a student at the Lindner School of Business in Ohio was found dead in February.

    Neel Acharya– Neel Acharya, an Indian student was found dead in the Purdue University campus.

    Akul Dhawan– An Indian-American student Akul Dhawan found dead outside the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). The autopsy suggested he died from hypothermia.
