In a candid and revealing moment, Han So Hee recently shared the deeply personal reasons behind her decision to forgo studying abroad and instead embark on a career in acting.

On January 13th, Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee made a guest appearance on PD Nah Yung Suk‘s YouTube channel. During the segment, Han So Hee revealed why she chose acting over studying in Paris.

Han So Hee said, “To get a visa to study in Paris, I had to prove that I had 60 million KRW in my bank account. They have such a policy due to illegal immigrants. Anyway, I didn’t have that kind of money so I started working part-time jobs. When I worked in a pub for 12 hours, I got paid 1.8 million KRW. But when I did a modeling gig for 2 hours, I got paid 3 million KRW. So I continued modeling for Musinsa. Then I was offered a TV commercial for Ritz crackers. I saw 20 million KRW in my account after filming the commercial. I didn’t have an agency back then so it was all mine after paying taxes. So I was like okay, I’ll film three commercials and then go study in Paris.”

She continued, “But I ended up where I am now. After seeing the commercial our agency’s CEO offered me to debut as an actress.”

The relevant segment begins around the 26:28 mark in the video below.
