    The Embassy of France in India is accepting applications for its flagship scholarship programme – France Excellence Charpak. These scholarships offer Indian students an opportunity to pursue their higher studies in France at undergraduate or postgraduate level across disciplines.

     Details about the Charpak Bachelor, Master, and Exchange scholarships:

     

    1.            France Excellence Charpak Master’s Scholarship

    Students or professionals planning to pursue their studies at master’s degree level in France can apply for it. The candidate will receive a monthly stipend of 860 euros plus additional benefits.

    Field of study: All

    Eligibility: Candidate must be an Indian national and not more than 30 years of age; applied for admission in a French higher educational institute starting between September and December 2024.

    Deadline: March 20, 2024

    2.            France Excellence Charpak Bachelor’s Scholarship

    High school graduates planning to pursue their studies at Bachelor’s degree level in France can apply for it. He/She will receive a monthly stipend of 860 euros along with additional benefits.

    Field of study: All

    Eligibility: The applicant must be an Indian national and not more than 23 years of age; applied for admission in a French HEI starting between September and December 2024

    Deadline: April 1, 2024

    3.            France Excellence Charpak Exchange scholarship (Autumn session)

    Students or professionals planning to pursue their studies at master’s degree level in France can apply for this. Candidates will receive a monthly stipend of 860 euros plus additional benefits.

    Field of study: All

     

    Eligibility: Candidate must be an Indian national and not more than 30 years of age; nominated by an Indian institution for a semester exchange at a partner institution in France.

     

    Deadline: May 1, 2024

    Co-financed scholarships

    These scholarship is offered by the Embassy of France in India in collaboration with French institutions and various public and private partners. It provide tuition fee waivers and other benefits to students enrolled at partner institutions. If you’re considering studying social sciences, engineering, management studies, or western classical music, be sure to look into these opportunities.

    Institute partners: Sciences Po Paris, The Neemrana Music Foundation, Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon, Ecole Normale Supérieure de Paris – PSL, Rennes Business School, IESEG Business School, EDHEC Business School, Kedge Business School, EM Normandie Business School

    Other scholarships

    The Indian government / foundations provide invaluable support for students keen on pursuing higher education abroad. Here are some of the important scholarships that you can apply for higher studies in French institutions.

    Inlaks Scholarship provides financial assistance to outstanding students for postgraduate studies abroad in a wide range of disciplines, including journalism, theatre, fashion, and architecture.

    Deadline: March 11, 2024.

    Aga Khan Foundation Scholarship provides financial assistance to outstanding students from developing countries, including India, for postgraduate studies abroad.

    Deadline: March 31, 2024

    The JN Tata Endowment – Higher Education of Indians provides Indian with loan scholarships for higher education abroad. These scholarships are available for a wide range of academic disciplines, including the humanities, social sciences, engineering, management, law, and the performing and visual arts.

    France announced its plan to welcome 30,000 Indian students by 2030, aiming to strengthen its ties with India, both economically and culturally. To achieve this goal, France will be establishing ‘international classes’ in French universities and colleges. To ease the learning process for international students, the universities are introducing classes in English medium, which will help in a smooth transition to the French educational system. Last year, France announced that Indian students pursuing their Master’s studies in the country will be granted a five-year validity short-stay visa.
