Planning for studying abroad is not just about clearing exams and deciding on a college. It also means booking tickets and applying for a visa. The application requires you to submit a set of documents so that authorities can verify details and give a stamp of approval.

This article mentions all the paperwork you will need to complete before heading to the visa office. To make your work hassle-free and ensure that you do not forget to carry any document, refer to the list below.

    1. Proof Of A Bonafide Student

It simply means that you will have to submit an application proving that you have been selected by a foreign university to pursue your education abroad. It does not matter which country you are going to, you will show your admission confirmation while applying for a student visa. It will help you get ahead of other applicants.

    2. Valid Passport

Before you apply for visa approval, you should ensure that you have a valid passport. The validity time frame for various countries differs, therefore, you must ensure that your passport holds the validity according to the country you have applied to study.

You should also know that there are two blank pages in your passport for the visa approval stamp. If you have an expired passport, you will have to submit a copy of it along with the renewed one.

    3. Language Proficiency Proof

You have to ensure that you have secured minimum marks in exams like IELTS (Visa For Canada Without Sitting For IELTS) and TOEFL. They serve as proof of language proficiency. You should know that while many universities accept low marks, a visa application might not get approval if you did not score the bare minimum.

Therefore, when you are submitting a request for visa approval, you should submit proof that you are fluent in speaking English. Here we are going with the assumption that you are planning to study abroad in an English-speaking country.

    4. Proof Of Financial Stability

Studying abroad is expensive, and you cannot get by until you have a sufficient bank balance along with enough money to pay tuition fees. You will need to submit proof that your admission, tuition, and accommodation will be taken care of.

For example, many European countries even mention a bare minimum cost of living. While applying for the visa, you will have to show that you have an optimum balance in your account.

You can also submit proof of scholarships (Scholarship Programmes For Students). If you have applied for a scholarship, and you have been selected, you can show it to authorities to claim that your fees, medical expenses, and living costs will be taken care of.

    Process For Applying for Visa

There are two ways you can apply for a visa: offline and online. You can apply online by creating a profile and submitting a form along with proofs.

In the offline process, you will have to visit the office, fill out the form, attach all the documents with it, and submit your request to the authorities.

Depending on the country you are applying for, you will have to submit a visa fee. Along with the above documents, you will also have to submit photographs and other documents as well depending on the country you are applying for.
