    Indian student numbers in Germany continue to be on the rise. The number of Indian students in Germany has doubled in the last five years which makes them now the largest international community on German campuses. 

     

     

    The latest figures released by the Federal Statistical Office of Germany reveal the following data: 

    • The number of Indian students in Germany has grown by 26% over the last year and stands at 42,997 (Winter Semester 2022-23). The total number of international students in Germany has grown by 3.7%. 
    • Indians form the largest group of international students enrolled at German universities. 
    • Subject fields: Engineering: 60%; Law, Management and Social Studies: 22%, Mathematics and Natural Sciences: 14%, Other: 4% 
    • Enrolment according to the type of HEI: Universities: 58%, HAW (Universities of Applied  Science):  42% 
    • M/F Ratio: Male: 70%, Female: 30%
