University Living, a platform for study abroad student accommodation, has launched third edition of its Social Scholarship programme. Interested candidates can apply for the scholarship at the official website — universityliving.com/scholarship.

Students have time till May 31 to apply for the study abroad scholarship. In the past two years, University Living has distributed scholarships worth £25000.

    Social Scholarship: How to apply

Step 1: Visit the official website — universityliving.com/scholarship.

Step 2: Fill the scholarship form and book accommodation with University Living.

Step 3: Record a video sharing your social work contribution.

Step 4: Upload the video on the Instagram and tag @uni.living

Candidates should remember that the last date to submit your details along with your video application is June 30.

    Eligibility

    — This scholarship is open for applications to all Indian students pursuing undergraduate degree, post-graduate degree or diploma with any of the locations provided by UL, the United States of America, United Kingdom or Australia.

    — The candidate should have an offer of a place on an eligible course with any university based in the United States of America, United Kingdom or Australia.

    — Interested students should have booked an accommodation with UL and should have a confirmed booking ID.

    — The activities undertaken by the candidate must have had an impact on social change and developments, fostered social cohesion or provided support in empowering any minorities/underprivileged people. Or any initiative taken towards betterment of society, environment, or animal welfare will be evaluated. However, it is further clarified that the scale of the impact or the number of people will not be the deciding factor for awarding of the scholarship.

    — Scholarships are only available to full time students.

The total value of the social scholarship is £1000 or 1 month rent whichever is lesser. Scholarship would be paid as the second installment in the accommodation amount. Students are expected to submit the accommodation invoice for the 2nd installment of rent which should be running uninterrupted from the check in date till the date of the second installment. This 2nd rent installment date should match with the payment schedule submitted by the student on award of the scholarship (if he/she/they wins) and finalisation of his accommodation.
