    We recently had the privilege of assisting a U.K.-based software company in expanding its operations to the U.S. through the E-2 visa program. After helping the company establish a U.S. subsidiary, invest in its startup, and obtain E-2 status, we continued to support their growth by securing an E-2 employee visa for an essential managerial employee.

    Establishing the Foundation: E-2 Status and Business Registration

    The client, a successful software company in the U.K., took its first steps into the U.S. market by forming a U.S. subsidiary and making a substantial investment to launch the business. With our assistance, the client successfully obtained E-2 status and registered their U.S. company as an E visa business under the U.K. E Visa Program. This registration enabled the company to sponsor additional U.K. citizens for E-2 visas, whether for new hires or existing personnel.

    The Need for an E-2 Employee Visa

    As the U.S. business began to grow, the company identified the need for an experienced managerial employee to oversee and expand their regional sales operations. They selected a U.K. citizen for the critical role of Regional Sales Manager, who would temporarily relocate to the U.S. to help drive business development. However, to make this move possible, the employee required an E-2 visa.

    Preparing the E-2 Employee Visa Application

    We collaborated with the client to prepare a strong E-2 employee visa application. This included demonstrating the essential nature of the managerial role and the employee’s qualifications to fill the position. Once the application was complete, we scheduled the employee for an E-2 visa interview at the U.S. Embassy in London.

    A Successful Outcome

    The employee attended the visa interview and was issued a five-year E-2 visa. This allows them to temporarily relocate to the U.S. and contribute to the growth of the new business in their role as Regional Sales Manager.
