Gilman International Scholarship Program that will allow them to study abroad during the spring, summer and fall of 2024. The seven VCU students were among approximately 1,700 American undergraduates who applied in the October 2023 cycle of the Gilman program, which enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad. Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) recently issued a final rule that changes H-1B registration selection and makes other changes related to the registration process. The legislation, Resolution 60-R-5, passed by a 34:1 majority vote with no abstentions. It now awaits approval from the Pitzer College Council, and if it passes, President Strom Thacker’s signature.
