DECORAH, IOWA — Luther College student Clara Wodny, class of 2024, won a $2,000 Study Abroad Scholarship from Sigma Tau Delta, the English Honor Society. Wodny is currently studying away at the University of Nottingham in England. Clara Wodny The grant covers study abroad costs for undergraduate students studying English. Wodny, a double major in English and visual communication, won the scholarship by writing an essay about “The Color Purple” by Alice Walker for her application. Julie Friend ’92 was a sophomore studying speech communication in the College of Visual and Performing Arts when Pan Am Flight 103 went down over Lockerbie, Scotland, on Dec. 21, 1988.
