    Dear UM Community Member,

The Global Engagement Team is excited to share with you an outstanding opportunity for our first-year students here at the U-M that will greatly benefit them as they explore global learning experiences.

We are now accepting applications for the Go Blue, Go Abroad Workshop and Scholarship, which is designed to help new students navigate the process of study abroad and prepare for a transformative international experience.

    Overview of the Scholarship:
The Go Blue, Go Abroad program offers a substantive introduction to study abroad opportunities, encouraging students to think critically about the benefits of global engagement and how to align these experiences with their personal, academic, and career objectives. In order to receive the scholarship, students will need to attend three workshop sessions and complete two reflective assignments.

    Eligibility & Award:
Students who fulfill these requirements will be eligible to receive a $1,000 scholarship towards a U-M study abroad program of their choice. The program is specifically open to first-year students enrolled at the Ann Arbor campus.

    Application Process:
The workshops and scholarships are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, in line with our eligibility criteria. Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis, with an emphasis on early submission to ensure a spot. The final date to submit applications is Friday, March 15th, 2024, at midnight EST, or until all spots are filled, whichever occurs first.

Selected students will gain insights from previous study abroad participants, explore appropriate study abroad program types, curricula, and locations, and receive guidance on the application and funding processes tailored to their specific field of study.
